MAC Club Eyeshadow Look and How To Wear It

Hey everyone!!

Before I get started, I just want to say ignore all the sweat on me in the photos lol. It was so freaking hot again here in Montreal and it thunderstormed this evening so now it's crazy humid and I can't stop sweating. My poor cat is sprawled over on the cold tile floor and hasn't moved all day. That is how hot it is here. Did I mention my parents refuse to put in the air conditionning because we're getting new windows at the end of the month? Kill me now. It's so humid, my camera keeps blurring.

But that didn't stop me!! I really really wanted to try out Club eyeshadow. In the pan, you can see the duochrome, meaning you see the brown/red and if you tilt it a bit, you can see the green/blue. However, when you swatch it, you see mostly the red/brown. So how do you get the green/blue color out? I had to do a little bit of googling on this mystifying subject and most posts declared that the best way to wear Club was to use a black Paint Pot, Blackground. The black base (applied on the lid) eliminates the red/brown so you only see the blue/green. It is so cool!! I've even done a swatch to show you what I'm talking about, it's at the bottom of the page. I was really impressed when I saw it firsthand. If you're using a Paint Pot base, you don't need to use a primer, but given this hot and humid weather, I'm wearing one just in case. Oh and Paint Pots dry really really fast so you have to make sure you do all your blending right away. And the 2 most common eyeshadows worn with Club are Humid and Woodwinked. Keeping that in mind, I created my own look using all those colors.

To complement the green, I used NARS Blush in Orgasm, which looks fantastic with the green. I also wore the NARS Lipgloss in Orgasm. Because I wanted the eyes to be the focus, I opted for a matte bronzer, Too Faced Bronzed and Poreless. And of course, I highlighted using Benefit High Beam.

So that's the look! Isn't Club eyeshadow beautiful?? Not to mention there's so many different ways to wear it! Most people really like Club when there's a black base underneath, such as MAC Paint Pot in Blackground. How do you wear Club?? And what eyeshadows do you wear it with?? Do you like how NARS Orgasm blush went with it? And what did you think about the matte bronzer, Too Faced Bronzed and Poreless? I like how it added the focus onto the eyes.

So let me know how you would wear MAC Club eyeshadow and which eyeshadows you would wear it with!!

And I want to add that you can use MAC Paint Pot in Blackground for anything. If you use it as a base, whatever eyeshadow you put on top will really pop. And you should especially try it with a duochrome eyeshadow. You really don't know what you'll get until you try! I'd recommend swatching it on your hand first, though. Over Blackground of course.

Thanks for reading
