Black Smokey Eyes using Stila's Jingle All The Way palette

Hello precious readers!!

I finally did a look that isn't Too Faced lol. I thought it would be a nice change to do something different. I'm using Stila's Jingle All The Way palette, which is from this past Christmas. I got it recently on sale on a shopping website that my mom always goes to. I forget what the name of it is, my mom did the shopping. I got this palette and a bunch of other stuff for really great prices online. I bought all their old stuff they were getting rid of, like their Christmas stuff. It's not even that old. Just because it's not new doesn't mean it's not still usable. If you've seen my Stila Haul post then you know all about the stuff I got super cheap.

The Jingle All The Way palette is a black smokey eye palette that has 6 eyeshadows and 1 convertible color, which is a cheek and lip colour. I used the lightest shimmer silver (Bell), the shimmer black (Prancer) and the matte black (Pine). I thought the shimmer black would go on sparkly and not black black but it went on quite matte and super dark. It looks exactly like the matte black in the palette.I was a little disappointed but the richness of the colour made up for it. The convertible color is a lovely pink color called Daphne. It is not part of their permanent collection, unfortunately, because I would have loved to buy it when mine runs out. It doesn't go on too dark like some of their other convertible colors. I'm able to layer it so that it looks nice on my super pale skin. It also looks really nice as a lip color. Even though this was a limited edition palette, I think it might still be available on Stila's website for about 9$US if I'm not mistaken. Great deal, huh? I know!!! At this price, you definitely can't go wrong buying it.

I also want to say that I got caught out in the rain (it had stopped way earlier so I thought I'd be okay) and it was really humid today. My eyes tend to be oily in the inner corners. Because of the rain and muggy weather, my eyeshadow came off in the inner corner and in a line in my crease :( It's a disaster when you're wearing black eyeshadow!! Luckily I brought the palette with me so I was able to fix it. It just sucks when that happens. And I also really don't like the quality of Stila's Smudge Stick Eyeliners. They don't stay on!! They always come off and when I try to reapply I end up rubbing more of it off. I only used it I wanted to try to be consistent with the Stila look. I should have used my Sephora + Pantone Universe Foiled Eyeliner set because they are much better quality. I need to invest in more sparkly black eyeliners.

I hope you like the look! I love doing smokey eyes so this is another way you can do it using this palette. This palette might be old, but for 9$US now, it's quite a good deal. You can always use other colors to substitute if you don't have this palette. I really wish they sold Daphne, I really liked it.

Did you like the look? Do you like Stila's Jingle All The Way set? Are there any other mini sets like that from them that you liked? Are you a bargain hunter or do you prefer to have things when they first come out? Did you like the convertible color in Daphne? Do you like Too Faced's Pink Leopard? Do you like Benefit's High Beam or do you prefer another highlighter and which one?

Thanks for reading and don't hesitate to leave me a comment!

Too Faced Love Sweet Love Palette in Evening Look and swatches

Hello everyone!

It's Tutorial Tuesday and I'll be showing you the Too Faced Love Sweet Love Palette once again but this time I'll be doing the evening look. I'll also show you swatches of the entire palette because I just realized that I didn't include swatches of the day look in my post on it. So swatches of the whole thing will be further down. Even though this look is an evening look, it is very wearable during the day. I wore this look to work. I feel that it's softer than most evening looks and I really this look. I actually like it quite a lot more than the day look in this palette. And if you use a softer and lighter eyeliner than I used, it can be even more wearable during the day. I thought the color payoff could have been a little bit better though, but that's probably because I like it dark and it wasn't quite dark enough for me. I really like the blush and lipgloss as well. I find the whole look goes well together and looks amazing. I am going to say that by now, the end of the day, the eyeshadow looks like its been a little bit worn off. I've had my makeup on for about 14 hours by now so I guess it's understandable. But usually by the time I write my posts up and take pictures its been at least 9 hours.

Makeup Haul #1 - Stila Products

Hello my lovelies!!

Today I'm going to show you my Stila Makeup Haul. This is my first haul posting and I consider this haul to be pretty modest. My mom bought the makeup off a site (not the Stila site) for my birthday last month and it finally just came now. I'm not sure how much the individual items cost but the grand total was 80$ before duty and taxes. So the makeup I bought was at a discount and I bought a lot of the older stuff that I hadn't had the chance to try yet. I haven't been able to try out any products yet except for a lipstick because UPS only came late in the evening and I had already left for school and done my makeup today. In my next post I'm wearing one of the lipsticks so check it out. It should be up tonight for sure. That post is going to be focused on how to look presentable at work even though you're crazy sick and you just want to be home in bed. Because that's totally how I felt today!!! Well enough of my ramblings, you guys just want to see the makeup, right??

Here's the haul:

Stila Long Wear Liquid Lip Color

in Petal and Muse

Stila Long Wear Lip Color

in Coquette and Exhilarating

Stila Jingle All the Way Eye & Cheek Palette

Stila Valentine's Day Blush (not sure on the exact name for this one)

Stila Positively Pink Set

Lipgloss is Splendor, the same gloss is also in the Stila Christmas 2012 Lipgloss Set

Stila Snow Angel Color Palette

comes with a Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Volumizing Mascara

And that's the haul! So tell me, which product do you like the most or dislike the most out of the ones I bought? Did you buy the Snowflake Palette last Christmas season? Did you like it? Is the Jingle All The Way palette your new favorite smokey eye palette? I look forward to reading your thoughts so leave a comment!

I can't wait to use these products!!

Keep checking for my next post, which is all about keeping it simple when you're sick and not really into wearing heavy makeup.

Stila Merry and Bright Christmas Palette Tutorial and Swatches

Hello my gorgeous suga bombs!

[Note: I wrote this up on Wednesday and was really tired and decided to finish it Thursday. I woke up on Thursday with this crazy cold that's going around. My mom and little brother are both sick with it and now I've got it. Crazy sore throat, stuffy nose and sinuses and headache. I also had my first day of work and I think lifting the boxes and sweating made the cold worse. So I've been taking care of myself. The worst of it is over and now back to the blog!! Unfortunately, I was too sick on Friday to care about makeup so that promised Fashion Friday is going to be next Friday instead. Sorry! I will leave a sneak peak tho as I had promised in this post that no one's even read. haha. I'm also working on today's look (Smoky Saturday) so that should be up today as well. So enjoy Working Wednesday for now!!]

[ooh yeah, subscribe by email or rss by hovering your mouse over the side bar and clicking on subscribe. Stay on top of all the latest posts!]

It's Working Wednesday and you know what that means! Safe for work/school makeup looks. Today I used some Stila products to demonstrate this look. I got this Stila mini palette during last year's Black Friday sale at Sephora. It came with a mini Kitten lipglaze and it was only 12$! Talk about a deal! So of course I had to have it and I also bought one for my mom. She likes it. The palette is predominantly browns, it has a beige color that can be used as a base and a black color that can be used as a liner. I'm not sure if any of these colors are available as part of their permanent line, except for the black shadow, called Ebony. The Lipglaze in Kitten is part of their permanent collection.

I used more matte shades for this look to keep it more work appropriate. I was going to use my Stila Smudgestick in Oscar Fish (sparkly brown) but sadly, in ran out and I couldn't remember when I put the extra set I bought a while back that was part of their xmas collection (I mentioned this set of eyeliner in yesterday's post). I was in a rush so I just used my Urban Decay eyeliner instead. And now, the look:

Et voila! And here's that sneak peak of Fashion Friday that I promised you....

60's Mod!!!

I did one crazy fashion look on the left and one normal but still very mod on the right. You can't really see it, but on top of the black eyeliner, you wanna put a white eyeliner. To do that, you want to start out doing a thick line with white eyeliner and then go over it with black. Liquid liner works best for this sort of thing. You can also use any bright neon color you have. My influence for this look was Edie Sedgwick, obviously. If you don't know who that is, google her and her makeup and you'll be amazed.

Much love,

Steph xo.

P.S. Check the blog on Friday for the 60's Mod Makeup Look!!

And I'll be posting Smoky Saturday shortly.
