NARS Eye Look using new Fairy's Kiss Palette

Hey there glamour girlies!!

Today's makeup look is a good one. I got my first ever NARS eyeshadow palette, called Fairy's Kiss, and I was so excited to try it. I finally tried it today and I just had to include each and every color in my look. I wanted to try them all out!! I really like this palette. It's so versatile, you can easily do day makeup with it and you can also do evening makeup. They have a good shade range so it's easy to switch from day to night, which I really like about it. Plus all the colors are great, when I first looked at this palette I didn't dislike any shade. Usually when I look at palettes, I always have one or two shades that I don't like. So when I like all the shades in a palette, I know I should be buying it. This palette is great for people that are light to medium skin toned. If you are medium to dark, I would suggest the other palette that they have launched at the same time as this one, Ride Up To The Moon. That one has browns and a green, among others. Fairy's Kiss is also great for cool-toned women because it has a lot of purples. I'm cool-toned and I thought the palette looked great on me. I really liked it and it's something that I would recommend to you to buy.

I also went shopping today and bought a ton of stuff. You'll be seeing a lot of new products soon! I picked up Too Faced's new Better Than Sex mascara (I haven't tried it yet!) and a Lip Injection Color Bomb in Candy Burst. I found that one was the only good color for me. I checked the ratings and after trying it on, I understand why it got only 3 out of 5 stars on sephora's site. I was hoping the tingling wouldn't be as intense as their regular lip injection but woah it's still pretty crazy. It only lasts for not even 5 mins plus you get huge lips. I thought the color is great and I'm using that in today's tutorial! I would recommend it if your lips aren't sensitive to the tingly feeling. If you're not sure, I recommend trying it at the store prior to buying it. I also picked up an Urban Decay lipstick and lip liner from their new launch. You'll be seeing it soon! I also got another blush from Illamasqua, 6 shadows from MAC, finally a contour brush!!! from MAC and I grabbed some samples of pigments from MAC as well. I've never used pigments before so that'll be interesting! I've got a ton of stuff to try out and review for you  :)

I also have a post on my French Manicure coming up so don't miss that because I'm also giving tips on how to do the best manicure you can on yourself. Ever wonder how they get that white line so perfect?

NARS Eye Look using new Fairy's Kiss Palette

Start by priming your eyes with NARS Pro-Prime Smudgeproof Eyeshadow Base. Next take out your NARS Fairy's Kiss Palette. To make it easy, I will refer to the first row as "1,2,3" from left to right and the bottom row as "4,5,6" from left to right. Take a small or medium shadow brush (Sephora PRO Medium Shadow Brush) and apply "4" to your lid. Then take "3" and apply it to your crease using a blending brush (MAC 217 Brush) or even a pencil brush. You only want to put color onto the crease. Take another blending brush and apply "2" above the crease color to blend it out. Then take a small shadow brush and apply "1" as a highlight and apply it anywhere else where there is no color. Take an angled liner brush (Sephora PRO Angled Liner Brush) and apply "6" to the upper lashline in a cat eye fashion. Wing it up at the ends. Take a pencil brush or smokey eye brush (Sephora PRO Smokey Eye Brush) and apply "5" to the lower lash line. You want to smudge it out so it doesn't look like a perfect line. Take a black eyeliner like MAC Powerpoint Eye Pencil in Engraved and apply it to both your upper and lower waterlines. Then apply mascara, like Too Faced Lashgasm Mascara. The last step is the brows. Fill them in with Benefit Brow Zings. The eyes are done, let's complete the rest of the look.

Start by priming your face with Too Faced Primed and Poreless. Next take a concealer brush (Sephora PRO Concealer Brush) and MAC Select Cover-Up Concealer and cover up your under-eye circles. Then take a stippling brush (Sephora PRO Stippling Brush) and MUFE HD Foundation and apply it to your entire face. If there is still any redness or acne showing, use MAC Studio Finish to cover it up. Next take MUFE HD Powder and kabuki brush (MUFE HD Kabuki Brush) to set the concealer and foundation. Now take a contour brush or squished powder brush (Sephora Collection Powder Brush) and apply Too Faced Bronzed and Poreless. Suck in your cheeks and use that as a guide to contour your cheeks. You also want to apply bronzer to your temples, and perimeter of the face. Next apply MAC Cremeblend Blush in So Sweet, So Easy. You can use a small stippling brush but I used my fingers to apply it. Apply it to the apples of the cheeks and blend outward and down into the contour. The last step is to apply Too Faced Lip Injection Color Bomb in Candy Burst. The look is now complete! Enjoy.

Swatches of NARS Fairy's Kiss Palette

Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoyed today's look and mini review! I really liked the NARS eyeshadow palette. I thought it was just great. The colors were perfectly coordinated and you can easily take your look from day to night. I'm really happy I got this palette. I def recommend you guys to try it out. As for the color bomb lipgloss, I recommend it if your lips are not sensitive to the tingly feeling. While it's not as tingly as the regular lip injection, it still isn't a great feeling lol. I like the color I got though. I'm also a tad bit curious, what did you think of the NARS Fairy's Kiss palette? Love it or leave it? And also what did you think of the Too Faced Lip Injection Color Bombs? Love it or leave it and if you loved it, what is your favorite color?

I've got a French Manicure post coming up tomorrow  :)  It has some great tips on achieving the perfect line and other stuff.

I also bought a bunch of new stuff today like I mentioned above, Better Than Sex Mascara, the Urban Decay lipstick and lip liner, Illamasqua Blush, bunch of MAC goodies, Chanel lipgloss, buncha MAC pigments to try out for the first time ever. So be prepared for lots of reviews.

Another MAC Haul (and NARS)

Hey my preciouses!!

It's time for another MAC Haul!! I went to MAC today with the intension of building my makeup kit, specifically to check out concealers and foundations so that I can start doing some serious freelance work. If you need to get your makeup done for an event and you live in the Montreal and surrounding area, please contact me! My email is on my Contact Page, or you can just leave me a comment here, or find me on my facebook page. Makeup has always been a passion of mine and I want to share my knowledge with others and make them feel beautiful about themselves by enhancing their natural attributes with makeup.

So I went to MAC and they didn't have the concealer palettes I wanted :(  I wanted to try the Light one first, on myself, to see if I liked it before I picked up all 4. I also have a good idea, based off Dusty O Hunter's MAC foundation palette. I'm thinking of buying a minimum of 6 and possible up to 12 different shades of MAC Full Coverage Foundation, which is a cream, and buying a MAC Pro Palette with a 12 well insert. Full Coverage is a cream foundation, so it's excellent for putting into a palette. I will also buy a White shade so I can mix the in-between shades that I do not buy. Now, I know something like this is ambitious and ridiculously expensive. Obviously I won't be able to buy all these in one day. But every month, I can buy one foundation and within a year or less I will have my foundation palette. To get the foundation in the well nicely, you'll have to scrape out the cream and put it in either a small metal pot, or a microwave safe dish, whichever method you like. With the foundation in the small pot, heat it over the stove. You don't want to "cook" or burn the foundation, you want it to be just melted. Then you will pour it into one well. For the microwave safe dish, put some foundation in it and then put it in the microwave. Make sure to constantly check on it so you do not burn it. When it has all been melted, pour it into one well. You now have your own custom made MAC foundation palette.

Honestly, maybe I should just buy the Bobbi Brown BBU Palette. If you haven't seen it in my most recent Shopping List post, it is a double palette with foundations on one side and concealer and correctors on the other. It's about 250$US. Which is a lot cheaper than making my own foundation palette with 12 foundations. We haven't even factored in the 100$ that it costs for the 4 MAC Concealer palettes!!

I'd love to know where you guys get your foundation and concealer palettes. I'd like to get something from a reputable brand. I like putting a lot of money into one good product instead of wasting more over time buying shitty products that don't work half as good.

So onto the actual Haul portion of this post....

Another MAC Haul (and NARS)

MAC Lipsticks

Sheen Supreme Lipstick in Royal Azalea

This is a lovely blue based pink. It is creamy, but not too creamy like some other Sheen Supreme Lipsticks. I love the color and the texture of this one.

Cremesheen Lipstick in Pink Pearl Pop

This is a nice yellow based pink lipstick. It looks almost as if there could be peach undertones as well. It's different than the usual round of pink lipsticks I have, which is why I chose this one. I had swatched it on my hand and I fell in love with it.

Retro Matte Lipstick in Ruby Woo

For a long while now I've been needing to buy that classic ultimate red lipstick. I think every girl should have a red lipstick in her stash. I prefer a matte lipstick because you have 2 options to wear it. You can wear it matte as it comes, or you can put a clear gloss on top to make it glossy. I really love the color of this lipstick. It's a blue-based red. If you're going to rock a red lipstick, you need a red liner, keep on reading to see which one I bought.

MAC Lip Pencils

Hip n Happy

I've been on the hunt for a while to find a light pink lip liner and I've finally found one! It's a great blue-based pink lip liner and it goes great with MAC lipsticks such as: Snob, Pink Nouveau, Mineralize Rich in Dreaminess, just to name a few. It's the only light pink lip liner that MAC carries. The rest are extremely darker shades compared to this.

Cherry

If you're going for a red lip, this is the perfect lip liner to pair it up with. It's a wonderful blue-based red but with a hint of pink, hence its name. This looks absolutely gorgeous with Ruby Woo lipstick. The pair will be featured in an upcoming tutorial and it is to die for.

MAC Illustrated Rebecca Moses Face Palette in Plum

Of all the current MAC Illustrated sets, this one called out to me the most. Though it's called plum, I see it more as a neutral palette. The brown one they had was just way too brown. The eyeshadows were brown, the blush was brown, and so were the lipsticks. With the plum palette, we see a little bit of variety. There are a few permanent colors in this, such as Yogurt eyeshadow. I'll talk about all the shades more in depth when I do a tutorial using this.

NARS

Fairy's Kiss Eyeshadow Palette

Every time NARS comes out with a palette, I want it. His palettes are absolutely gorgeous. This is my first NARS palette and I'm really excited to use it. I really liked this one for its practicality. You can either go with a very light, day-time look, or you can darken it up for a smokey night-time look. There is so much you can do with this palette and I loved the colors. A NARS palette hasn't screamed out to me quite as much as this one has, so I knew it was meant to be. There is one NARS palette that I've always wanted that I still want, even though it came out a few years ago. That's the Danmari blush palette. If you don't know what it is, google and tell me you don't love it. I can't wait to use my Fairy's Kiss palette and that too will be in an upcoming tutorial.

Thanks for reading and I hope you liked me sharing my MAC and NARS haul with you! I hope you enjoyed the post as well as my foundation palette ideas.

What kind of foundation palette (either bought or made) do you have in your makeup kit?

What do you think of the lipstick colors I bought? What do you think of the lip pencils? Do you know of any brands that make lighter pink lip pencils?

And lastly, what do you think of the MAC Illustrated palette and the NARS Fairy's Kiss palette? Which MAC palette do you prefer out of the two and which NARS palette do you prefer out of the two, and why?

Again, hope you liked reading about the haul, and I will do makeup looks very soon using the products shown here and I will talk about the colors a bit more once I've had a chance to use them!

I'm not sure what my next post will be, it's either a purple sparkly smokey look or it's a fall look. Both are coming up anyway.

Fall 2013 Makeup Trends

Hello glam girls!!

This is my first time doing a post on seasonal makeup trends and I hope you enjoy this post. I know I like checking out all the new fall collections from my favorite brands. Fall has to be my favorite season for makeup because I love dark colors, and I just love the style. It's very me. Fall is also my favorite time of year to go clothes and shoe browsing/shopping. I'm going to talk about some of the new makeup trends that I've noticed that are emerging and I'm going to show you the new collections from my favorite brands.

I also want to put it out there that these are not my images, I'm just showing you what I've run across on the internet and talking to you about all the wonderful products coming up this Fall.

I have to say that I'm actually really impressed with Laura Mercier's Black Magic Dark Spell collection. Why do I keep calling it Black Magic?? It looks so freaking me!! I actually want to buy it all. I've only recently started to get into Laura Mercier because my mom showed me some of their products and they actually have some really nice stuff.

I've already spoken loads about the new Too Faced collection, Pretty Rebel, so I'll leave a link to that post at the bottom.

And Sephora Collection had a few things to show like their Sephora X Disney Ariel palette and some darker eyeshadow palettes.

And now, here are the products you've been dying to see, in no particular order:

NARS

NARS Eyeshadow in Namibia

NARS Eyeshadow in Yamal

NARS Eyeshadow in Bavaria

NARS Eyeshadow in Kamchatka

NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Mysterious Red

NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Paimpol

NARS Pure Matte Lipstick in La Paz

NARS Pure Matte Lipstick in Peloponnese

NARS Nail Polish in Galathee

NARS Nail Polish in Fury

The products that I am looking forward to the most are the Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Paimpol (light pink) and the Fairy's Kiss eyeshadow palette. The lip pencil is such a beautiful light pink color, it's definitely my color and I really look forward to trying it on! The eyeshadow palette is also very me, dark colors that you can put together for a beautiful smokey eye for a night out. The eyeshadow in Bavaria is also very lovely and I can't wait to try it when the collection comes out! What are your most anticipated NARS products?

Chanel

Chanel Ombre Essentielle in Gestlogist - Gri - Gri (LE)

Chanel Ombre Essentielle in 99 Hasard

Le Volume De Chanel in 40 Khaki Bronze (LE)

Chanel Stylo Yeux Waterproof in Gestlogist - Khaki Precieux

The products from the Chanel fall collection that I am looking forward to the most would have to be the new blush range, for sure!! This is the first time they are doing a cream blush line and I would definitely have to try the light to medium pinks. I also want to try their Rouge Coco Shine lipsticks in Instinct and Secret because they both seem to be very nice light pink colors. The Les 4 Ombres eyeshadow palette in Mystere also looks like it has beautiful dark colors, but it also looks soft. These are the products that I'm the most excited for. What Chanel products are you excited for?

MAC

MAC Retro Matte Lipsticks
Relentlessly Red - Bright pink coral
Dangerous - Orange red
All Fired Up - Bright fuchsia
Flat Out Fabulous - Bright plum
Runway Hit - Light nude
Steady Going - Light pink
Fixed On Drama - Rich wine
Ruby Woo - Vivid Blue Red

Pro Longwear Lip Pencil
High Energy - Bright orange red
Trust In Red - Bright cool red
Shock Value - Bright pink
Dynamo - Bright warm pink
Fashion Boost - Bright purple
In Anticipation - Soft yellow pink
More To Love - Intense blue pink
Staunchly Stylish - Pinky beige

This is actually the only thing I can find for MAC's fall collection. The designs are by Antonio Lopez and the collection is supposed to have 3 eyeshadow palettes, 3 lip palettes, and 2 face palettes. I like the neutral / light pink looking lip palette, the one that's in the middle. It looks perfect for me. The pink and purple one on the right is too dark for me. I do like the red lip palette on the left, it has different shades of red, which I think is perfect because you can pair a beautiful red lipstick with any outfit you're wearing. I can't wait to see the rest of the collection. Which of the Antonio Lopez lip palettes for MAC are you loving?

I've also found a list of new MAC Retro Matte Lipsticks that are launching this fall. I'm most interested in seeing Runway Hit and Steady Going. I'd also love to start getting into lipliner, because I have none and I never buy any because I want a versatile lip liner that I can use with 10 lipsticks.

Urban Decay

Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick
Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Lip Pencil
Urban Decay Naked Skin Ultra Definition Pressed Finishing Powder
Urban Decay Brow Box
Urban Decay Nail Color in Vice (purple) and Addiction (silver) both LE
Holy smokes! That's a lot of lipsticks. I think Obssessed looks like a really pretty pink, but I would definitely want to see them in person before committing to buying a certain color. They have a ton of shades to choose from!! They also have a wide range of new lip liners and I would totally pair it with the Obssessed lip liner. The one on the far right also looks nice. If the white one goes on clear, that would also be good. They also have a new pressed powder to join the Naked family. They have 5 shades. They've also revamped their brow boxes, which come in 2 shades. And lastly they have 2 limited edition nail polishes for the fall. So the products I'm most looking forward to are the lipsticks and lip liners for sure!! Which Urban Decay product are you dreaming about?

Laura Mercier

Laura Mercier Dark Spell Fall 2013 Collection

Laura Mercier Illuminator in Spellbound

Laura Mercier Baked Eye Color / Satin Matte Eye Color in:
Magical
Mystical
Dark Spirit

Laura Mercier Kohl Liner Extreme in Black
Laura Mercier Caviar Stick Eye Color in Smoke
Laura Mercier Lip Plumper in Charmed and Rose Flush (not sure which is shown)
Laura Mercier Creme Smooth Lip Color in Angelic and Merlot

Laura Mercier Nail Lacquer in Forbidden and Bewitched

Oh-emm-gee! Since I love all things black and dark, I have to say that I absolutely love this collection! Laura, I think I'm in love. Laura Mercier has definitely won me over to their brand. I want all 3 eyeshadows, they look beautiful. They look like they would put all other smokey eyeshadows to shame. The illuminator also looks wonderful. I'd like to try out the shade stick and the eye kohl. Which fall products from Laura Mercier are putting you under her dark spell?

Stila

Stila CC Color Correcting Stick with SPF 20
Stila CC Color Correcting Cream with SPF 20
Stila Stay All Day Concealer
Stila Stay All Day Prime and Anti-Shine Balm
Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner in Cobalt
Stila Smudge Stick Waterproof Eye Liner in Cobalt

So this is the new Stila stuff. I have to say that there isn't very much new stuff that I'm looking forward to. The CC cream looks pretty cool because it's supposed to correct areas of the face that have color problems. I feel like they're a little behind with the Cobalt eyeliners because I saw a ton of cobalt looks last spring. There isn't much that I'm looking forward from them for now, maybe they will have more products coming out soon. Which Stila products are you loving for fall?

So that's it! I haven't listed Too Faced because I have a whole post dedicated to their Pretty Rebel collection, which you can see here.

I also haven't listed anything from Sephora Collection either because all the new stuff that's been released I have already put on my Shopping List #2 post a couple of days ago and I didn't want this to be too repetitive so if you want to see this you can click here.

Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoyed this post. It is the first time that I do a seasonal post like this on all the products that I'm looking forward to see come out this season. I'd also love it if you could share with me which products and brands who's collections you are looking forward to!
