Dark Purple Smokey Eyes using MAC

Hello glam girls!!

[Note: OMG! So sorry! I'm actually posting this 2 days after I had originally intended to post this! I've just been so busy! You'll understand why as you read the rest of this post. New windows = big mess and lots of cleaning. There's also been some amazing sales so I've been out shopping. I'm also trying to find a way to store all my makeup, leave ideas in the comments. Since I wrote this post 2 days ago, I have bought the MAC Veluxe Pearl Fusion Eyeshadow Palette in Smokeluxe. I will be doing a post on that, hopefully today. If I like this palette, I may go and buy the Greenluxe. I should be back to posting every day again or at least every two days. Sorry about the random weeklong hiatus!!]

I'm sorry I haven't been posting a lot this week, as I mentioned in my last post we are getting new windows installed in my house. I got my room done yesterday so I had to clean up my room and prepare it. I also had to clear out furniture. There's a ton of dust on my stuff, even though we covered everything with plastic. So it's been clean-up time. I'm happy we did my room on the first day because it's out of the way. I'm also trying to reorganize my room because I tend to be a little on the messy side. I'm also researching ways of storing makeup collections. Mine isn't that big, but it's taking up more and more space so I need to do something about it before it gets beyond overwhelming.

On another note, I went shopping today and I checked out those new Veluxe Pearl Fusion Eyeshadows by MAC. Unfortunately I didn't buy any because I was seriously torn between Smokeluxe and Greenluxe. I wanted them both and at 48$CAD a pop I wasn't buying both. I'm going to do some serious thinking and buy one and I'll do a post on it when the time comes. You can leave me a comment too voting on which one you like out of the two. What I did try on, however, is a lipstick from their semi-new Mineralize Rich Lipstick. I tried on Divine Choice and I liked it. It's a darker pink than what I'm used to wearing. I figured I would think about it and perhaps pick it up next time I come back to get the Veluxe Pearl Fusion Eyeshadow. I was telling my mom when I got home and turns out she had a Mineralize Rich Lipstick in Dreaminess, which was the other shade I had wanted to try. So obviously I tried it on, liked it, and stole it from her. Heehee. We share our makeup  and I tell her all the time she can use my palettes and stuff.

I also went shopping at Dynamite and bought a ton of stuff. They have a card where you get stamps each time you spend a certain amount of money. 50$ gets you 1 stamp and after 3 stamps, or 150$, you get a free bag (it's a nice bag), 20% off, 30% off, then finally 40% off. In case I didn't explain that right, you have to spend 150$ between each prize. These cards do expire and the current one expires on the 30th of this month, in a couple days, and I had to spend 150$ to get 40% off so I bought a lot of stuff!! They should be getting new cards soon for the next season. I forget how long the card is good for, I'll let you know when I get the new one.

I know the last post I did was purple smokey eyes. Well here's another version of what I did last time, still using the MAC eyeshadow shade Shadowy Lady as the inspiration. I used Shadowy Lady in my crease like last time, Shale on my lid and Seedy Pearl as a highlight. I really like how this turned out. I used an Urban Decay 24/7 Eyeliner in Rockstar to line the upper and water lash lines to give the eyes some definition and I tightlined with MAC Powerpoint Eye Pencil in Engraved. For the face, I did my usual routine and I used MAC Cremeblend Blush in So Sweet, So Easy and Too Faced Pink Leopard. I'm really falling in love with the blush and I'm slowly getting used to the new formulation of the bronzer. I really like my new MAC Mineralize Rich Lipstick in Dreaminess. Thanks mom for that.

I know I'm still very behind on a lot. I'll catch up soon :)

Chanel Smoky Eyes Look using Les 4 Ombres in 93 Smoky Eyes

Hello glamour girls!!

[Note: I wrote this up Friday night after I got back home from having a few drinks with friends so I took a nap and woke up on Saturday lol. It's my little brother's birthday on Tuesday so we went out last night and I didn't have time to finish this post or do another one. And tonight I fell asleep with my makeup on before I took pictures. And of course it smudged. But I can tell you that I really do like Stila's Jingle All the Way palette. You can see photos of it in this post. The blush is really nice, it's not too bold so it doesn't overpower or compete with the dark eyes. I used the two darkest colors, the blacks, with the white to highlight and it was really dark, so the colors are quite pigmented and come on quite strong. I will eventually do a post using this mini palette. I will do the 60's mod look TOMORROW, well actually, today, I promise! But for now, read my Chanel makeup post.]

I know I promised Fashion Friday, the 60's mod look for today. But I went to bed really late last night and woke up really early today for work and then after work I went out with my friends. So the alcohol has made me a little tired out. Here is the makeup that I wore out today and I will do the 60's mod look tomorrow, I promise!! It's a long weekend here in Quebec :)

Today I'm going to be doing a smokey eye look using Chanel's Les 4 Ombres in 93 Smoky Eyes as well as Chanel's Rouge Coco Shine in 74 Parfait or you can use their lipgloss, Levres Scintillantes Glossimer in 131 Mica. I got my first ever Chanel products (these 3) for my birthday last month and I was so excited to try it on. I always assumed that Chanel makeup would be expensive because it is a luxury brand and their clothes are crazy expensive. But they actually price their makeup pretty moderately, I'd say it's in the same price range as NARS. And I have quite a bit of NARS stuff.

Speaking of NARS, I used NARS pro-prime smudge proof eyeshadow base and pro-prime pore refining primer to prep for this look. I chose this because I have a lot of deluxe size primers and I wanted to test out the different ones that I have. So I'll be using different primers until I finish off the samples. Need to de-clutter my makeup space. I liked both NARS primers, I thought they were pretty good quality and did a good job prepping the skin. When it comes to Chanel's Les 4 Ombres, the 4 eyeshadows are baked and extremely sparkly. I find they could have gone on a bit darker and more pigmented, I felt that they were too light. Maybe next time I can try using a glitter primer instead of a regular primer. I did like the sparkles, it gives it more of a glam smokey look. I liked Chanel's lipstick and lipgloss, I'm very happy I got both. The Rouge Coco Shine line is very hydrating to your lips and it glides on like a lipgloss. It doesn't come off chunky on chapped lips at all, it goes on perfect. Because it feels more like a gloss, it doesn't have a strong color, but it is nice nonetheless. The lipgloss I bought is very sparkly and pink and I like it. Oh and did I mention that the eyeshadow quad comes with sponge applicators with the Chanel logo on it? How cute! And it also comes in a nice, sleek, black pouch. It also comes with "instructions" for the makeup newbie. I find the Chanel packaging is very classy looking, simple yet elegant. And of course, everything has the Chanel logo on.

So let me know what you think about this look. Chanel is very classy so obviously the eyes aren't super dark, but lighter and sparkly. I really really love the lipstick, it's very moisturizing and nourishing. Feel free to leave a comment and tell me what you thought of this look. Do you like the Chanel eyeshadows or are they too light or too dark for you? Did you like the lipstick? Did you try anything from the Sephora + Pantone Universe collection? I can tell you right now that the quality is nothing like Sephora's regular collection (which sucks, but I still use because it's a cheap way to experiment with many different colors). The quality of Sephora + Pantone is amazing, it's like buying any other medium luxury brand. Let me know if you would be interested in seeing a review or tutorial using these eyeliners and the Foiled Eyeshadow set (the one with the bronze colored top that was released in Fall 2012). Again, I look forward to reading people's opinions and comments.

I will do that 60's mod look later today and I will post it, I promise!! I've just been really busy lately.

Take care everyone,

Steph xo.

Urban Decay Naked2 Look plus my new Stila products and Look of the Day!

Hello beautifuls!!

I just want to apologize for not posting as often as I would have liked this past week. As you know, I got sick last Thursday and I've been sick ever since. I tried to tough it out and continue working and going to school but my cold kept getting worse. Started losing my voice on Wednesday and I couldn't talk for the next two days. Today I'm actually able to talk and I had a final exam in Chemistry today. I've literally been in bed for the past few days. I feel like this cold is never going to end. I've been sick for at least 10 days. So I just want to apologize for not having pulled through with all the looks I promised, but I will get everything done when I feel better, hopefully by this week.

But for today I'm starting off with a look from Urban Decay's Naked2 Palette and I'm complementing that with some of the Stila products I ordered. You can view the Stila Haul here. I feel like I look super horrible in these pictures but I'm still posting. I want to know what you think of the look and the new stuff I bought and I'll be asking specific questions at the end of the post and I'd love to hear your comments and thoughts.

For later today, I want to try doing mermaid waves with my straightener. I might not necessarily post this today, but once I get the technique right I'll post some pics.

And nails!! I finally took off the nail polish I've been wearing for the last two months (red) and I'm going to be trying out one of the kits I got for my birthday. So look forward to a nail post coming really soon!!

Now for today's Smokey Saturday I'm doing a look from the Urban Decay Naked2 palette and pairing it up with some Stila. I know the lipstick is a little too bold for daytime so I've included a calmer pink lipstick by NARS that I really like. I will be showing swatches of both and of everything else I'm wearing, as usual.

So that's the look!! I hope you enjoyed it. I wanted to try out the new Stila stuff I bought so I incorporated that into this look. Some stuff is still available so you can still purchase it if you want. I couldn't find the blush on Sephora's site or Stila's site but it might still be around. Let me know what you think of this makeup look!!

Outfit of the Day

So I wore this comfortable outfit to school today to write my Chemistry of Solutions exam. Leggings are always comfy. The shirt is from Dynamite and I believe the leggings are from American Apparel. No idea where my mom got the slippers. lol. And now its time for me to go style my hair. I let it airdry last night. Cuz when you're sick, you just don't care.

So that's all for now! I'll be posting the nails later and maybe some pictures of the mermaid hair if I can get the technique down. Remember, if the lip is too bold, the NARS one is softer and lighter. I wore that color earlier to school today because the Stila one is a little much for day time wear. I wish you could see me in real life, it is really really bright!!

So I want to ask you, my dear readers, what do you think of the blush? Do you prefer Benefit's Bella Bamba or this one? What do you think of the dramatic lip? Naked1 or Naked2? What products do you want to see more of?

And here are just a few things that I will be posting about in the near future:

Empties & Extras: I will show you all my empty products and the extras that I have hidden away

Fashion Friday: That 60's Mod look I was supposed to show a couple weeks ago

Too Faced's New Pink Leopard vs. the Old Pink Leopard
