Boxing Day Makeup and Skincare Haul!

Hello darlings!!

My Sephora package has finally arrived!! It took a week to get here, which is about usual for Sephora. I was worried it might come next week, that it might have been stuck with all the other Christmas and Boxing Day things in the mail. You lucky Americans have 2-3 day shipping while us Canadians have to wait a whole week! But it finally did come  :)

So I'm sure you all want to know what I got. What deals did I find? I have to say that I was a little disappointed with Sephora's 12$CAD/10$US choice of minis. They really didn't have as much to choose as they did on Black Friday. I think they had maybe 8 or 10 things to choose from while on Black Friday they had at least two dozen, plus on Boxing Day part of that 8-10 also includes Black Friday leftovers! So they really didn't have many new items on sale. But they did have an extra 20% off on sale items, which I think was the redeeming quality on this sale. They had a lot of GOOD things in their sale section, which surprised me because I'm so used to seeing junk that no one else wants. But they really did have some great things to choose from, plus an extra 20% off an already discounted price. So really I paid peanuts for my makeup. They had the Ciate nail polish kits, Nails Inc nail polish kits, a couple great Stila kits, Too Faced Christmas makeup sets, etc, along with a whole bunch of other things.

Just to mention, I went both to the store and ordered online on Boxing Day. I'll try to say what everything cost and I only bought one item that wasn't a sale item.

I also went to the Body Shop because I was running out of Coconut Body Scrub and my beloved Tea Tree Blemish Night Fade Lotion. They had some great deals going on there. For all their regular items, it was buy 2 get 2 free (instead of their usual buy 2 get 1) and buy 3 get 3 (instead of buy 3 get 2) which basically amounts to buy one get one free. All their holiday stuff was crazy on sale, basically all on clearance. I was really loving the Vanilla smelling stuff, shame they were getting rid of it!

Boxing Day Makeup and Skincare Haul

The Body Shop

Coconut Body Scrub X2

This is my favourite scrub so I stocked up! I find it makes you smell pretty and it does a great job of scrubbing off all the dirt that gets stuck on your skin. It makes me feel super clean.

Coconut Body Butter (double-sized)

I love my Coconut Body Butters! Again, stocking up on their old double-sized ones from last Christmas that they still had. They're usually not eligible for the discount, but today they were!

Tea Tree Skin Clearing Toner

I've been using this toner for a while now and I find it helps to restore the balance and pH of my skin. I've been changing my skincare routine around and so far, this has made the cut. I am also trying out other products to improve skin.

Tea Tree Blemish Night Fade Lotion X2

This is one of my all-time favourite skin products, by far. I've been using it ever since I discovered it as a sample. It really helps a lot to diminish redness and even scarring. It helps pimples and blackheads clear up and it helps my face to not be as oily. It's definitely a holy grail product that I think everyone should try at least once.

Vanilla Bliss Mini Hand Cream X3 - only 2$CAD each!! reg. price was around 6$CAD!!

These mini hand creams are so cute! They're the perfect size for your purse so I got myself an additional one to put in my purse and I got my mom two so that she could have one by her bed at night and one for her purse. At this price, why not buy 10? They smell great too. It isn't completely vanilla, there's also something else there but I can't place it. My mom really loved the smell when I showed her mine so I knew I had to get her a couple. Get them while you still can! The rest of the Vanilla Bliss holiday stuff smells great and is also on clearance!!

Sephora

Boscia Pore Purifying Black Strips (12 strip pack) - 34$CAD

So this one isn't a sale item, but I after getting them in the Boscia Pore Perfection set on Black Friday, I had to pick up a full-size. These strips will seriously rip out all the goo and crap in your pores on your nose and it'll leave your nose feeling so clean! Say goodbye to blackheads! I use them once every week or two and it really helps to clean out my nose. These are definitely part of my nighttime skincare ritual.

Boscia Intensifying Moisture Pack + - 12$CAD, normally 36$CAD

I haven't tried this out yet since I'm currently testing out other moisturizers, but seeing as the regular price is 36$CAD, I figured I would give it a try! You get a full-size bottle and it says it can be used as either a mask or an intensifier. I will definitely give this a try in the near future. If you've used it, what do you think?

Bite Beauty Lush Lip Trio - 12$CAD

Here's another thing I haven't tried yet. I got this lip trio mainly for my makeup kit since I'm lacking in the gloss department (for sanitation reasons, I'm not using my personal ones that I've double-dipped, so I'm starting a collection strictly for my kit). I almost want to steal the pink one for myself! It seems like it's a matte light to medium pink and it's called Strawberry. Honey is a sparkly peach shade. Cocoa is a matte brown/nude shade. I haven't tried anything from Bite Beauty except for the VIB Rouge mini red lipstick so I'm excited to try these out. Do you like Bite Beauty and if so, what's your favourite product/shade?

Urban Decay Deluxe Shadow Box - 12$CAD

Now this is the most popular item that was on sale on Boxing Day. Everyone wanted this palette! I was surprised there were still a few left at my local Sephora. I ordered mine on line out of fear they would be sold out by the time I got there. I haven't used it yet but I love the shades! So many colours! It's also great that it comes with a mini Primer Potion. You get shades like Graffiti, which is a bright green, and Peace, which is a bright electric blue to shades like Random, a beautiful blue/purple, and Scratch, a metallic pinky kinda colour. Urban Decay is known for their bright shades, and you get a lot of bright shades in this palette. This is definitely not for your average night out, it's a fun palette that packs a lot of colour!

Stila Chic Cobalt Collection Lipglaze Trio - 12$CAD

I haven't tried any of these glosses yet seeing as I just got this today. I'll just quickly say that I have a million Kitten lipglazes, do they seriously need to include it in every set? The other two colours are Orchard and Hibiscus. They're metallicy shades but I can't say much since I haven't tried them on yet. Hibiscus looks pinky and I can't place it on Orchard, I guess I would say nude? And Kitten is goldeny pink. Can't wait to try out these shades!

Stila Bring On The Night Makeup Set - 28$CAD with 20% off discount applied, worth way way more

This is the set I was most excited about buying. The Bring On The Night makeup set comes with five full-size items!! Five!! For 28$CAD!! Insane!!! It comes with a Custom Color Blush in Self-Adjusting Coral, All Over Shimmer Liquid Luminizer in Kitten, Lip Glaze in Mango, Smudge Crayon in Black, and a Jewel Eyeshadow in Black Diamond. I got this set mainly for the Black Diamond Jewel Eyeshadow and the Smudge Crayon in Black. I already have a mini of the Luminizer in Kitten. It's not my favourite luminizer, but it isn't bad either. The Black Diamond Jewel Eyeshadow is just beautiful. It's so shimmery when swatched and I can't wait to use it in a look. They did a great job on the formula for this. I always wanted to try out their Smudge Crayon and now I finally can. They advertise it as a primer, shadow, and liner all in one. I will definitely be trying it out as a primer under the jewel eyeshadow and hopefully all the sparkles will stick onto it. It also comes with a little sharpener at the bottom of the pencil! Just twist it off and you'll see it. I thought that was pretty neat since it's a twist-up pencil and it's hard to get a nice point otherwise. It'll definitely be a big help! The Lip Glaze in Mango wouldn't be my ideal pick, as it's a dark berry shade, but I'll give it a try. The Custom Color Blush in Self-Adjusting Coral isn't my ideal pick either, I'd rather have the Self-Adjusting Fuchsia, but it's not a bad shade. I swatched it and it isn't incredibly corally in the sense that it's not orange, but more on the peachy side. It's shimmery and it is extremely pigmented, so be careful when applying it, you only need a tiny tiny bit. I'm curious to see how it will turn up on my skin. I'm actually excited to try out all the products, but most of all, the Black Diamond shadow!! And what a deal this was!

100 Point Perk: Benefit It's Potent Eye Cream

I decided to cash in some of my perks since saw a few things I liked. I don't think I've tried their eye cream but I have tried their moisturizer. I always hear great things about Benefit's skincare line so I thought I'd give this a try. I'll let you know what I think about it after a few uses. The bottle is crazy small and I'm not sure how I'll get my finger in there!

100 Point Perk: Philosophy Hope In A Jar Night

I tried the Philosophy Hope In A Jar (Day) moisturizer and I liked it, so I'm curious to see how the Night moisturizer differs. Right now I'm using the moisturizer I got from their 500 Point Perk just recently and it's pretty good. I may start getting into Philosophy skincare products!

500 Point Perk: NARS The Iconic Set

When I saw this perk I said to myself, wow I have to get this. This set comes with four minis: a mini Pro-Prime Smudgeproof Eyeshadow Base, a mini Orgasm Blush, a mini Larger Than Life Lipgloss in Gold Digger, and an Illuminator in Copacabana. I was most excited about the illuminator and the lipgloss. I always wanted to try Copacabana but didn't want to spend that much money in case I didn't like it or didn't use it. I was really impressed! I liked it a lot. I'll probably use it everyday until I run out haha if I'm not using any of the new things I got. The lipgloss was quite lovely too! It's a peach with gold sparkles and it looked very nice. I already have another Orgasm mini and it's also in my One Night Stand palette, so I really didn't need a third. Plus, they include this in all their sets. I love this blush, but it would be nice to have something else for a change. I gave this mini to my mom so that she could try it out and have her own. The mini blush is a good size and lasts quite a while. I'm not really a fan of their primer, I prefer Too Faced Shadow Insurance or Urban Decay Primer Potion. This is my second mini now, I got the first in their previous 500 Point Perk. I wish they'd stop recycling the same products, I want to try something else! Not have a ton of the same ones! But I did enjoy the other things I got in this set.

Thanks for reading! And I hope you enjoyed my Boxing Day Haul! They had some really great deals this year that if I had a never-ending supply of money, I totally would have gotten more stuff! I was mad eyeballing that Ciate Nail Polish Advent Calendar!! I'm happy with the stuff I tried so far and I can't wait to try the rest of it! It was also great to stock up on old favourites at an even greater price! So what did you girls all buy this Boxing Day? And what kind of crazy deals did you find?

Empties & Extras #3

Hello glamour girlies!!

It's time for another edition of Extras & Empties. I have to say that I haven't really been collecting any Extras lately. I usually end up having a bunch when I buy sets, but I've been buying more individual items lately. There's no particular reason behind that. I'll be linking my very first Empties & Extras post where I go through ALL of the makeup and skincare extras that are hiding in my drawer. It hasn't changed much.

For empties, I've got a lot hiding in my drawer and I want to get rid of them and get some space back haha. Most of them are skincare items again, but I do have a few makeup and even fragrance items. You'll have to read on to see what I've used up and if I recommend it or not. Let me know if you want me to only show my makeup empties, as I feel that the skincare ones are getting a little repetitive because, let's face it, I've been using the same stuff for ages. Comment below what you think.

Also, let me know if you like these kinds of posts. I always thought they were interesting, seeing what people used the most and seeing the extras they've been stockpiling.

Now time for today's topic!

Extras & Empties #3

The Empties

Body Shop

Seaweed Pore Perfector X 2

A few months ago I tweaked my skincare routine. I took out some Tea Tree products I thought weren't working or could react with my skin better, and opted for the Seaweed line, which I heard could be used in conjunction with the Tea Tree line. I'm not sure if these pore minimizing products actually work. I'm going to have to say that I'm not really sure on this one. I can't tell if it's a combination of all my skincare products helping my skin not if this particular product is helping and how much. Will I buy it again? I have a few stored up, but I don't think I will buy anymore when they are done. I'm trying to find a skincare routine that is better than the one I currently have.

Tea Tree Blemish Fade Night Lotion X 2

This is one product that I'm absolutely sure helps my skin. I've been using it since I was a teenager. You can see the difference the next morning. It helps for scaring, redness, acne, pimples, you name it. It clears my entire face. This is one product I'll always recommend because it's fantastic. This will help your skin so so much. I'll always continue to buy these.

Tee Tree Skin Clearing Toner

The toner is pretty good I'd say. Obviously I haven't noticed anything obvious, but it does help to cleanse the last bits of makeup off my face that I've somehow missed. A girl always needs a good toner to help restore her face's pH balance back to normal. I'd recommend this product. Currently, I'm trying out a couple different toners just to see, though I have quite a few of these in my drawer. Hoarder much.

Tea Tree Face Mask

I've been using this mask for a little while now and it's been pretty helpful in clearing up my skin. It's a green mask that you wash off after 15 mins. It cools your face as well and I always notice that my skin looks a lot clearer the next day after using this. I would definitely recommend this mask to a friend. You know I hoard my skincare, but I have been trying out Boscia's skincare stuff lately so more on that later.

Seaweed Mattifying Moisture Lotion SPF 15

I recently switched from the Tea Tree Lotion to the Seaweed Lotion because the tea tree one was making my cheeks just a little bit too dry. I switched to this and it's pretty good. My cheeks aren't as dry anymore so it seems to be hydrating my skin pretty well. The only thing I don't like is how it goes on white. It mooshes with the rest of my skincare products and looks all weird and uneven after that whole mess of products. I would recommend this product to a friend.

Coconut Body Scrub X 2

I love the Body Shop's coconut scrub. I can feel it getting all the dirt off my skin, so the dirt doesn't flake off my skin after the shower anymore. I can get really clean! Not to mention the smell of this scrub is amazing and it leaves me smelling great. I deeply recommend this product for a good ol' deep cleaning of your skin.

Sephora

Alterna Caviar Anti-Aging Perfect Iron Spray

I recently tried Alterna's Heat Protecting Spray. This is the first heat protectant I've ever used. It seems pretty good, but that can be partly due to the amazing hair straightener I bought, T3 Singlepass, which is also supposed to be nice on the hair. It keeps it from frizzing out or anything weird like that while I'm straightening it. After straightening, my hair is all sleek and soft and just beautiful. Whether it's this or the straightener, something somewhere is working. I recommend this product and I also recommend people to use a heat protectant before styling their hair, as it protects it from damage due to heat.

Makeup Forever HD Powder

This is the best setting powder I've ever used. They make an awesome powder and it goes especially great with their HD Kabuki brush. It does an excellent job of setting your makeup and preparing it for blush/bronzer time. It helps to create a flawless face. I use this everyday (unless I'm testing or switching it up) because I love it. I would def def def recommend this powder!

Urban Decay All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray

I always thought that setting sprays were a sham for some odd reason. No clue why, just always thought it was weird. One day at Sephora I saw they were selling these minis (yeah the old ones!) for 12$ so I figured why not. I wanted to give it a try after reading about the different setting sprays by different brands. This one seemed to be a good one. And wow am I ever happy I bought it. Setting sprays actually do work and they help your makeup to last longer. I find that I don't smudge my cheeks by the end of the day (I always rest my hand on my chin/one side of my face) when using this. I'm pretty darn impressed and I always remind myself to use this if I'm having a long day. I would totally recommend this to you, and especially to someone that has long 10 hour days who still wants to look fabulous at the end of the day.

Chanel Coco Mademoiselle Eau de Parfum

Ahh I finally finished a perfume bottle. Finally. This is my very first empty perfume bottle!!!! I've reached a milestone!!! OMG CELEBRATE!!!! I traded in my high school signature scent  for Chanel's Coco Mademoiselle in my early 20's. Even in my high school days, I loved this perfume. But honestly who would buy their teenage kid such an expensive thing as Chanel? Back then I always thought that Chanel was like, unbelievably expensive. Like a thousand times more expensive that Givenchy. Hah (In case you were wondering, my first signature scent, my high school one, was Givenchy's Hot Couture). I always loved the smell of Coco Mademoiselle, so I finally got it as a gift from my dad, who was on a business trip and passed by the Duty Free Shop. The Eau de Parfum has a very different smell than the Eau de Toilette so do be careful when buying and smell them both. Personally, I do not like the smell of the Eau de Toilette. I really really do not like it. The Eau de Parfum, on the other hand, smells soooo wonderful. I would definitely recommend this perfume to a friend, it's a classic!!

The Extras

As I said, all my extras are honestly all the same stuff I posted in my very first Empties & Extras post. I honestly haven't been hoarding anymore stuff, I only have like 2 new things, which isn't much to show off, since they're both minies anyway. Take a look at my first post for all the stuff I'm hoarding.

Empties & Extras #1

Thanks for reading and again, I hope you enjoyed today's post and looking into my garbage! haha. I hope it was cool to take a look at my used up products. There's certainly a pattern, as I keep using the same products over and over again. What are your holy grail products that you use up time after time again? Let me know what they are!

In the very near future I will show you my new Too Faced Christmas 2013 item!! Gahhh so stoked about getting it. I also prepared that French Manicure post, finally! I was going to do it tonight but I got class in the morning and it's seriously getting late, so maybe double post tomorrow.

Empties and Extras #2

Hello dolls!!

Here's another edition of Empties & Extras. I have to say that I have a ton of skincare extras because I use skincare products like the apocalypse is tomorrow. As a teenager, I never really suffered from acne. The most I got was an occasional pimple, sometimes twice at one time. But now in my early twenties, my pimples are bad. I know it's not the worst case of acne out there, but it's the worst it's been for me. So I use skin products like they're going to be discontinued soon. So a lot of empties are skincare products. The rest, obviousy, are makeup. I was getting a little tired and fed up at the amount of containers I'm hoarding so I'm doing this post. For future posts I might wait until I have more makeup empties so that it's more interesting. Let me know if you found this post boring and want more makeup empties. The only reason I initially included skincare and other empties was because I didn't think I'd have enough empties to do a post more often than every 6 months.

As for the Extras part.... well, there aren't really any. Well there's nothing new, to be precise. So I'll leave a link at the bottom to the previous Empties and Extras post so you can see all my extras. I honestly haven't bought anything or received anything that is an extra to what I already have. An Extra, to me, is a product that I have a double or triple or whatever that I'm storing until the opened one is empty. I also count samples as Extras too.

I was going to do the Fashion look from the Too Faced Natural Eye palette but I was tired and fell asleep and woke up with smudged makeup haha! So I'll do it soon for you guys. Sucks cuz I really tried to use products that I don't normally use, and it looked great. The day before that, I went out for supper with my bffl Lisa. Again, no pictures, but we looked hot in our dresses! We went to Deville Dinnerbar, and I gotta hand it to them, the drinks and food was pretty good! They make a pretty good spin off of the classic Long Island Iced Tea. I tried a bellini for the first time in my life, and I didn't like it. I almost wanted to steal my friend's drink because she had ordered the Long Island Iced Tea because she liked mine so much. Her first drink was the Litchee Martini, exact name I don't remember. We had a great time and exchanged birthday gifts. Our birthdays were a while ago, mine in April and hers in May, but we were busy and hadn't been able to see each other. I got her the Nails Inc Bling It On Rebel nail set, which you can see here. She got me the David's Tea Summer Tea Set and ahhh I'm so happy. My favorite teas are dessert teas and fruity teas so I definitely loved the set. Plus I had wanted some more Tropicalia and I can't wait to try the other teas. Yum!

So let's get onto my makeup empties!

Empties

from the Body Shop:

Coconut Body Scrub - 1 x 300mL container and 1 x 200mL container

Coconut Body Butter (1)

Tea Tree Face Mask (1)

Tea Tree Skin Clearing Lotion (1)

Tea Tree Blackhead Exfoliating Wash (1)

Tea Tree Blemish Fade Night Lotion (2)

Vitamin E Moisture Serum (1)

Seaweed Pore Perfector (1)

I know, I go through skincare products like the apocalypse is coming tomorrow and I have to have a perfect face so that I might find the perfect man to protect me from an incoming horde of zombies. I really, really, really like my skincare products. Ever since my face started going haywire and producing more pimples than it did when I was a teenager, I've been trying to fix this problem. So far, the pimples always seem to win. But this regimen is helping a lot and I get less pimples, they're less noticeable, and my skin is better. I highly recommend these products, they work for me, and I hope they work for you too. I've repurchased all of these products. Every single last one. And I use them daily. So yes, I strongly recommend these products and I will be repurchasing them unless something way better comes along. The only one I'm not currently using is the Tea Tree Skin Clearing Lotion because the lady working at The Body Shop recommended the Seaweed Mattifying Moisture Lotion instead. She said it would help my cheeks and not be as drying as the Tea Tree. So I'm giving it a try.

other stuff:

Clean and Clear Acne Wash (1)

Softlips in French Vanilla (1)

I use Clean and Clear Acne Wash for two purposes: the first is actually what it's made for, as an acne wash, and the second is to remove my makeup. I've been using this since I was a teenager, and I always go back to it. I've already repurchased this product and I do recommend it for both reasons. Now, for Softlips, it has got to be greatest lip chap/lip balm/ whatever you call it these days EVER! I use it all the time when my lips get chapped and I'm trying to get into the routine of putting it on at night before I go to bed. You can see how much it's been loved, the label has completely rubbed off. I've already repurchased this as well as another product from Softlips called "Nourish" (I think?) and I always keep one in my purse. I definitely recommend them.

and finally, from Sephora:

Benefit High Beam (1, mini)

Too Faced Primed and Poreless (1)

MUFE HD Foundation in 110 (1)

Oh Benefit High Beam, how I love thee! This is the greatest highlighter I've used, and I've tried quite a few. It's the perfect color for me and it's something I would DEF recommend to light to medium toned girls that want a nice highlight. I've repurchased this and I even have another mini. Love love love it. Too Faced Primed and Poreless is also another product that I love. I use this all the time to prime my face before foundation and it's really great. It makes your skin nice and smooth and my foundation goes on so easily, and I use less foundation because of it. This is the only face primer that I use and I will continue to repurchase this. I already have a new one that I'm using. I recommend this to someone that is looking for a good pore refining face primer. The last makeup empty is MUFE HD Foundation. I love this foundation. This is my second empty container since first buying this product last fall. The color matches perfectly to my skin and you can choose what kind of coverage you want, from medium to full. I like the way it feels on my skin and the way it goes on and blends into my skin. I knew right away that this was my holy grail foundation. I have repurchased this and I recommend this to everyone! They have a huge range of shades and I'm sure that you will find a good match to your skin color.

Extras

I really haven't bought or received any extras compared to what I already had. Obviously, I won't have the same amount, but I do store extras of the products I love, especially skincare because I use that stuff a lot. I don't want this to be repetitive so I'm not going through everything again, but if you want to see my old extras, then check out my first Empties & Extras #1 post.

I hope this was an interesting post as I am quite curious myself when it comes to seeing other people's most used products. I hope this helped people on their quest to find their own holy grail products that they will want to use up til it's empty!

Thanks for reading, as always, and I hope this was entertaining even though skincare practically took over! But don't worry, I'll be back to doing makeup looks tomorrow. I'm still working on doing that Dupe List for Too Faced Loves Sephora palette. Trust me, there are a lot. Hope you all had a fantastic weekend!

Shopping Haul #3

Hello glam girlies!!

I know I was supposed to do a post on my new MAC Veluxe Pearl Fusion Eyeshadow in Greenluxe but I had an extremely busy day yesterday. I decided to take a short nap and when I woke up it was 5am and my makeup was all over my face. So much for short nap. Hah. So I'll do the post tomorrow. I actually really like the palette, even more than I liked Smokeluxe. The palette doesn't scream bright green at you, which I take as a great thing, and is a darker olivey smokey green. The very last color at the bottom reminds me a lot of MAC's Club Eyeshadow. I got compliments on my eyes all day. I used all 5 shades because I wanted to try them all out. I'll redo this look and post it soon.

Today's post is a shopping spree post. It differs from my past shopping spree posts because it isn't solely makeup products. This time I have a bit of everything: makeup, nails, clothes, books, skincare. I'm going to organize this by category so this post isn't all over the place. Before I start, I know this can seem expensive but I do carry a lot of 10% cards and points cards to most of these stores. I also used coupons or redeemed points I had. If you shop at a particular store a lot, the best thing to do is to ask them if they have a points or 10% card or any kind of privilege card. And I'm also listing the prices as what it says on the labels and not what I actually paid. For example, the cost of my purchase at the body shop would have been 59$ but I paid 31.50$. They had an in-store promotion going on, I had my 10% off card and I reached 4 points, which gives you 15$ off.

I also forgot to take pictures of my body shop purchase so I'm inserting pictures from the body shop site. I'm also wearing the new pijamas I bought. Because it's night and I'm a creature of the night.

Shopping Haul #3

Clothes:

La Senza

2 pijama tops in Small - 2 for 24$CAD or 16.50$CAD each

2 shorts in Medium - 8.25$CAD each

1 3/4 mix between leggings and sweatpants in Medium - 22.50$CAD

I needed summer pijamas badly and they were having a clearance sale at La Senza to get rid of all their summer stuff, bras and underwear included. They didn't have a whole lot of stuff left so I got what I thought was alright. Besides, it's not like anyone's going to see me in my jamies, right? These pijamas are pretty comfy and I needed something that wasn't long sleeved flannel for the summer. I bought these so I can mix and match them together and also possibly with some future pijamas. They're comfy.

Books:

Indigo (same as Chapters)

Nice is Just a Place in France, by The Betches - 17$CAD

This book is hilarious. It's a cross between humour and a how-to manual. It's a betch's bible. This book isn't meant to be taken seriously and it's not for the easily offendable. The girls behind this book are also the very same girls that run the site Betches Love This. I've only read a couple of pages so far, but I can tell this is going to be a funny book. And I also want to say that extremely young girls should not read this. This book isn't meant to be taken seriously, so don't follow bad examples in real life. Eating is good. Food is my friend. And it can be yours, too.

Skincare:

The Body Shop

Coconut Body Scrub - 20$CAD

Seaweed Pore Perfector - 21$CAD

Vitamin E Eye Cream - 18$CAD

I got the usual skincare products that I normally get. I got the 2 things that were running out and/or empty and I decided to try out an eye cream. I've never used an eye cream before but now is as good as any other day to start. I went with the Vitamin E Eye Cream. I've only used it once so I can't say whether or not it's working just yet. The Seaweed Pore Perfector is also a product I've recently gotten into. I think it's been working so far. And lastly, the Coconut Body Scrub is just amazing. I use that stuff almost every time I shower and it really helps to get down deep and completely clean your skin. I follow up using their Coconut Body Butter to make my skin extra soft!

Ciate

Speed Coat - 17$CAD

Butter London

Matte Finish - 21$CAD

Sally Hansen

Complete Care: Extra Moisturizing 4-in-1 Nail Treatment - approx. 14$CAD

I've been wanting to get a fast-drying top coat for a while now and I finally picked one up. I have a ton of Ciate mini nail polishes that I got in a set so I figured why not keep it the same brand? They didn't have any Matte Top Coat left by Ciate so I bought one by Butter London instead. My mom picked me up a Sally Hansen nail treatment because I had forgotten to get one while I was getting the Ciate and Butter polishes. I don't usually like Sally Hansen. I had a manicure set from her once and the nail polish pealed off in the shower. It couldn't stand up to the heat. I bought manicure polishes by Rimmel and they are a lot better quality. So I'm a bit skeptical about this nail polish. If you've used it, I'd like to hear how you found it.

And finally, the makeup. It took me a while to figure out which 2 colors I wanted to add to my MAC palette. I asked the MUA what she thought about my list. I showed her what I already had and what I will buy in the near future. She gave me some great suggestions that I've added to the list. Sometimes it's hard because not every color is available in store and the shadows look extremely different online. I got Embark, which is a brown with a bit of red in it. It's really nice and I think it would look great with Twinks. I got Contrast, which is a purple-blue color. It's a really nice dark color. I'm thinking about how I would pair it because I don't have any blues yet. I'm not really a blue girl. At Sephora I got my MUFE HD Foundation because I'm starting to run out and I don't want to be caught off guard when it finally does run out. I know the Benefit VIB Spree gift was a while back but the nice girl managed to find one hidden and gave it to me. Yay! I only have Sun Beam and I'd like to try out Bad Gal Lash because I hear a lot of good things about it and the lipglosses made after their blush boxes are really cute.

So that's all I got on my shopping trip. So I know it seems like I spent a lot of money, but I saved everywhere I could and that isn't listed here. I saw a cute Betsey Johnson bracelet at The Bay and aaahh it was so cute. It had little leopard hearts dangling off the chain. It isn't a recent item from her, they had a couple earrings that I bought a few years ago there, but it's pretty nonetheless. I really hope she gets a new collection going, I was sad when she went out of business and closed all her stores :(

So I hope you found this interesting in that it wasn't just a strictly makeup haul. It really did have a touch of everything. I know I haven't been doing a lot of posting lately but here are a few things I will be doing in the near future:

Smokey Green Eyes using MAC Veluxe Pearl Fusion Eyeshadow in Greenluxe

Days 6 and 7 of Sephora + Pantone Universe Precious Metals

Too Faced Loves Sephora Dupe List

Empties and Extras #2

And I hope you are looking forward to these posts, and let me know if you want me to do a certain look or show a look using a certain palette, or whatever else!!

And also, if you've used any of the products shown above, let me know if you liked them or not!

[I just want to say that all the products here were bought by me, except for the Benefit VIB Spree, it was free with my purchase. All opinions are my own.]
