MAC X Antonio Lopez Collection Makeup Look and Review

Hi glamouritas!!

I gave you a sneak peak a few days ago of the MAC X Antonio Lopez Lip Palette in Nude. Today I'll show you another lip color from that set as well as the Pink Face Palette. I decided to dedicate today's makeup look to MAC, so I'm using mostly MAC products. I won't be using one of the eyeshadow palettes, however. I didn't particularly like any of them enough to buy one so I refrained from purchasing them, and instead, bought the face and lip palettes. I was leaning towards the purple eyeshadow palette a bit. I have to say that I did love the products that I bought. I thought the design of the palettes was superb. It has such an 80's vibe, I love it. I've always said that my dream is to be a teenager in the 80's.

Oh and ignore the random strands of wavy hair. My mom bought the Sultra 1 Inch Bombshell Rod Curling Iron and I tested it out. I'm surprised with how well these new school rod barrel curling irons work!! It was amazing. I did my mom's hair and you don't even need to hold the hair for 10 seconds, it curls right away. Unfortunately, there is a down side. To curl your hair so fast, the curling iron gets really really hot. I ended up burning my hand when I thought I didn't need the glove. So just be careful if you're using a rod-barrel curling iron, always make sure you wear the protective glove!! I'll be posting a review and a hairstyle soon using this product!

The Review

I particularly liked the design of the Lip Palettes. The 3 lip colors are housed in a black case with a drawing (by Antonio Lopez obviously) on the top. It opens up to show a mirror on the top and the 3 lip colors on the bottom with a miniature lip brush. The colors are: Vivid Image (light bubblegum pink), Antonio's Girls (light peach), and Art Directed (lustre-like shimmery light pink). I immediately fell in love with the first and last colors, because let's face it, pink is my color. I tried the peach color a few days ago with my NARS cheek palette and it surprisingly looked quite good on me. I really like all the lip colors, they're made to complement any look. I always put this palette in my purse. The quality of the lipsticks is also very good. The color comes on strong, you don't need to keep layering it. I was very happy with the color payoff of these lipsticks. I just with that Vivid Image was a permanent shade! So I'm gonna go ahead and say that yes, I definitely recommend this lip palette!

Now onto the Pink Face Palette. The container is similar to the lip palettes, but bigger. It has a drawing by Antonio Lopez on the front, and it opens up to show a mirror and the luminizer and blush. If you pop that top section to the right, you have your bronzer underneath. It slides back and forth into place. In MAC speak, the "luminizer" is called a Pressed Iridescent Powder in the shade Belightful, which is a light bronzy color with a golden sparkly sheen. Then we've got the Powder Blush in Pure Femininity, which is a medium blue-toned pink. And lastly our "bronzer" is a Beauty Powder in Peaceful, which is a peachy bronze. I actually really like this face palette. It's been competing for attention against my new NARS Adult Content Cheek Palette, they both basically have similar type colors. I do wish the bronzer was a tad darker, but other than that, I have nothing to complain about. The blush is a lovely shade of pink. The luminizer gives a nice glow to your face. I love that I have a face palette that has all the shades I need for a look. Instead of packing 3 different products and containers, you've got one sleek container with all 3! I thought that the best product in terms of quality was the blush. I thought it was just amazing. Great pigmentation and color payoff and so easy to work with. The worst in my opinion was the bronzer. It was super powdery and the pigmentation just wasn't there. I found I had to keep going at it to get a decent amount of product out of it. I'm not saying it's terrible, it just could have been better. In between both is the luminizer. It wasn't the greatest, but it wasn't bad either. It was a happy middle, with decent pigmentation and it stayed on for most of the day. I'm still going to go ahead and recommend this palette. I still find myself using it a lot, and I love that it has my kind of colors all housed in a happy package. The quality overall is good.

So now that I've given you my product reviews, let's see these babies in action! For today's look, I used my MAC Veluxe Pearl Fusion Eyeshadow in Smokeluxe. If you haven't tried it out yet, I highly recommend it. The eyeshadows are almost creamy and they go on so well. They're just all around great quality.

Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoyed today's makeup look and review! I'm curious to hear what you guys think of the MAC X Antonio Lopez collection? Did you buy into it or did you pass over it? Personally, this is one of the few MAC collections in a while that actually excited me. I loved it because there were products that appealed to me, like the face palette and the lip palette. I fell in love. The eye palettes didn't really do it for me, but I'm curious to know, did you buy a MAC X Antonio Eye Palette and which one did you buy? Post some pictures of your looks, I'm dying to see! Did you also buy into the face palettes and/or the lip palettes? Let me know what your favorite product from this collection was!!

Again, thanks for reading and I'll be seeing you soon (I promise)!

I did a post in the past on the MAC Veluxe Pearl Fusion Eyeshadow in Smokeluxe, see that right here.

I've also got a lot of posts in the works. An Empties & Extras post, a Christmas 2013 makeup post, new products and reviews (such as NARS Adult Content Blush Palette, MAC Paint Pots, MAC eyeshadows, new skincare routine, MAC brush review, etc) for starters. Let me know what you're most interested in and I'll do my best to do those posts first. I know, I still haven't finished that Sephora + Pantone Universe series. I promise I'll finish it.
