10 Minute Makeup - Light, Work Appropriate, and Fast for the Gal on the Go

Hi glam babes!!

[I forgot to include the Too Faced Primed and Poreless Powder in my list of products. Sorry!]

[I wrote this a couple days ago and meant to post it yesterday but my camera batteries died. I couldn't post it earlier because we're still installing the new windows and I had to help out with some stuff. So here's the post finally!]

Today I'm going to show you what I wear when I have to get out the door fast. It's a light makeup look and it's more natural looking than what I typically do. Forget the luminizer and bronzer, baby! This type of look is great for a hot summer day, and it was pretty hot here today. I'm not wearing much makeup at all so it's great for the gal on the go. I actually really ended up liking this look a lot that I decided to do a post on this. When I did my makeup, my goal was to get out the door fast and never mind if it looks good enough to be in a post. When I got compliments on the eyes, I figured why not I'll do a post on this fast look.

I didn't use any primers because I was in a hurry and wasn't planning on doing my eyes except for the eyeliner, but as I was doing the eyeliner I thought "Oh wouldn't a touch of Shroom look nice on the lids?" which turned into a whole eye look. So I'd advise you to use primer before doing an eye look.

no shadow primer and no bronzer

So it turns out I really liked how this look turned out so I'm wearing it again today. I had done this look yesterday. I will show you both yesterday's and today's so you can see little differences. I will tell you how I did yesterday's look below and I will list the added products in square brackets [ ]. I wore everything I wore yesterday along with the addition of eye primer and bronzer. I find that the eye primer really made a big difference. The eyeshadows popped out more and they did not crease at all by the end of the day, whereas yesterday's creased quite a bit. So if you want a softer look, ditch the primer. I added bronzer to contour the face a bit and I used an extremely light hand. It was even hotter outside today so I used less bb cream today so it is more sheer than yesterday. I gotta say, this is my perfect light summer look.

Basically this look is all about contouring the eyes and creating that perfect cat eye. By using a light color on the lid and a darker color in the crease, you create depth and make your eyes look bigger. Since your eyebrows are what frames your eyes, I lightly colored mine in with a pencil and I used a shimmery pink eyeshadow to highlight underneath my brow. I used Fluidline to create that perfect cat eye wing. Follow the line up from where your bottom lash line ends to perk up your eyes and make them look like they're going up. You want it to lift the outer eye, not make it look like its drooping. Go in real thin in the inner corner, and remember that you can also tightline your upper lashes. I also did my bottom eyelid by using a pencil eyeliner instead of the Fluidline. I used Engraved to tightline because the sparkles from Black Swan irritate my contact lenses. I used Black Swan on my bottom lids. You can always use Fluidline instead of the two pencils. I prefer pencils because they are less irritating to my contact lenses. I finished off my eyes with a couple coats of mascara.

For the face, I didn't really do much because I knew I would be trying some blushes on. I basically left the house with just some concealer on under my eyes and some BB cream. I ended up trying on Chanel's Joues Contraste Blush in 64 Pink Explosion and I loved the color. It's baked so it comes on really soft and it's buildable too. I can't wait to try it again. I thought it was such a lovely pink color. There's sparkles in the pan but it doesn't come on shimmery. I didn't use any luminizer or bronzer today. For the lips, I also tried on a lipstick at Chanel, it's a Coco Rouge Shine Lipstick in 68 Candeur and it is such a nice light pink color. It was love at first sight and now I can't stop wearing it. And yes I know Chanel is pricey but I only own 5 makeup products. It's not like I have their whole collection or anything crazy like that.

Thanks for reading and do let me know if you liked this 10 Minute Makeup Look. I really loved how the eyes were simple but yet so elegant. They really add depth to the eyes and make them stand out more. A basic cat eye wing is classic. Did you like the eyes? Would you do them differently and how? I also really liked the Chanel blush, I thought it was such a beautiful pink color. It adds brightness to the face and really brings the look together. What do you think of the fancy blush? If you want, you can do a slight contour with a matte bronzer that is closer to your skin tone as opposed to too dark. I also really liked the Chanel Rouge Coco Shine Lipstick in 68 Candeur. It was such a pretty pink color and I think it really adds to the natural but very chic summer makeup look.

I don't know if you can see the difference between the two, but with the eyeshadow primer, the eyeshadows pop more. So it depends what kind of look you're going for. Subtle or pop. I also find that a touch of bronzer gives the face some depth. I think with and without are both nice, it depends on the look that you are going for.

The next post I'm doing is another simple 10 Minute Makeup Look but it is brighter and more summery looking. Meaning, there are colors! For a sneak peak, check out my Facebook Page.
